Before you read: Look at the picture. What school clubs do you know?
It is Monday morning at Greenhill School in Türkiye. Deniz is with his new classmate, Emma. She is from the UK. Emma likes singing and wants to join the music club.
At break time, they stop at the notice board near the library. Emma reads a poster: “MUSIC CLUB - SCIENCE LAB”.
“That's strange! Do we sing in the science lab?” she asks.
Deniz sees another poster: “SCIENCE CLUB - MUSIC ROOM”.
“Oh! The places are wrong!” he says.
They speak to Ms Brown, the school secretary. She checks the posters and smiles.
“Thank you! Let's fix them,” she says.
Now the music club meets in the music room, and the science club meets in the science lab.
Emma is excited.
“Come on! Let's go to the music room,” says Deniz. “But remember, we mustn't run in the corridor!”
Emma laughs. “Of course! Let's walk.”
